Here is what a fan had to say about our student athletics:

“Earlier this week, I attended a 6th grade boys' basketball game, and I was in awe of both the talent and, more importantly, the middot on display. It was impressive to watch an 11 year-old execute textbook-perfect no-look passes, but it was astounding to see that same boy selflessly pass the ball to another player, one without the same athletic prowess, and then offer a supportive clap on the shoulder after his teammate's missed shot. I heard Coach Achhammer in the hall with the boys at halftime, conducting his ritual of asking them to provide constructive feedback. It elicited comments, both accolades and analysis of areas of improvement, that demonstrated how well these students have learned to weigh their words carefully. I have taught middle school for almost a decade and I know how rare it is to find a student at that age who is self-possessed and circumspect. For any middle schooler to be able to give - and receive - genuine praise and thoughtful suggestions is impressive.  To find an entire team that fits that description speaks to the fact that this is not mere luck of the draw or coincidence. The emphasis of entire MJBHA community, both at home and and school, on Derech Eretz, clearly resonates with the students, and I am so glad that I was able to witness such a profound manifestation of it.”
