Meet the Orons
Berman Hebrew Academy is thrilled to welcome Rabbi Itiel Oron, his wife, Avital, and their three children as our new Rosh Kollel and Torah Mitzion Kollel family.
“My family and I are really excited and look forward to becoming a part of the community,” Rav Oron said. “We've heard so many great things about the people, the school, and the shuls. We’ve already started to feel the warmth of the community, receiving so many welcome emails and offers to help us with our move.”
Rav Oron brings to Berman a deep love of Israel and Yiddishkeit, dynamic energy and warmth, and a wealth of teaching experiences at yeshivot and seminaries in Israel as well as in the United States. He is currently a rav at Yeshivat Eretz ha-Tzvi and Midreshet Lindenbaum and has taught at Migdal Oz. Rav Oron also served as Director and Rosh Kollel of the Torah Mitzion Kollel at SAR in Riverdale, NY and has been a Scholar-in-Residence at communities up and down the East Coast. In his free time Rav Oron volunteers as a medical clown at Sha’are Tzedek Hospital.
Rav Oron will be teaching both the girls’ Midrasha class and the boys’ Kollel class, continuing to raise the bar of the high level of learning that our beit midrash shiurim are known for. “Thanks to the school leadership and the former Kollel shlichim and families, there's already a tradition of great accomplishment. Together with the Kollel bachurim and the bnot sherut, we will continue in that spirit, and contribute our special Torah Mitzion flavor to the kehila.”
The entire Berman community looks forward to greeting the Orons and their children, new Berman students Nava (8th), Ro'ee (5th), and Maayan (2nd) when they arrive toward the end of the summer. Stay tuned for information about a welcome reception for the Orons and for the announcement introducing our group of new bachurim and bnot sherut.
We look forward to getting to know the Orons as they join our Berman community with a mission to enhance our love for the land of Israel and the Torah of Israel.
