Israel Mission 2018
Dear Parents of 2018-2019 Upper School Students,
We are very pleased to officially announce the details about the Upper School mission to Israel in November of 2018!
The ten day trip will include sight-seeing, educational programs, community-service, and an Israel-wide Berman reunion. The previous missions have been nothing less than a transformative experience for our students. We are looking forward to having an amazing time!
The Mission will take place from the afternoon of November 14 through mid-day on November 25, 2018. We will begin with a fabulous four-day stay in the Golan after which we will be based in Jerusalem for day trips and Shabbat.
Please visit our Information and FAQ sheet which will be continuously updated as new questions are asked and answers become available.
What is the cost?
Due to the largesse of Dennis and Debra Berman, this trip is very heavily subsidized. The charge for each student is just $825.
The deadline for submission of registration and payment is September 21, 2018. After that date, there will be an additional $50 late fee.
In addition to the $825 registration fee, students must also submit a $500 check to be held by the school and deposited only if your child decides not to go on the mission. The check will be destroyed once your child joins us on November 14. Both checks should be brought to Mrs. Zaghi’s office after Shacharit (before first period) or during lunch.
Additional donations to help defray the cost of the mission are welcome but not obligatory.
If there is any reason that this registration deadline poses difficulties, please contact Miriam Zaghi (email@example.com)
What do I need to do now?
There are two main action items for parents at this point:
1) Make sure your child has a current passport. Anyone whose passport expires before May 30, 2015 (six months after we return) will need a new passport in order to travel with the mission.
2) Get excited! This is a truly special trip, and even for those students who have been to Israel many times, going with their whole class and the entire Upper School has proved to be a unique and uplifting experience.
We are looking forward to a very successful and enjoyable trip with your children. If you have any questions at this early date, please feel free to contact one of the two of us.
