Introduction

In an effort to educate the “whole” person and provide multiple opportunities for growth, MJBHA offers a rich selection of extra-curricular opportunities for Upper School students. Every student is encouraged to participate in one or more extra-curricular programs. These extra-curricular programs help develop leadership skills, promote self-confidence and encourage our students to take a risk by trying something new.  Extra-curricular programs offer students an opportunity to interact with peers and faculty outside the traditional classroom environment. Students must take the initiative to seek out these opportunities. Daily announcements are made each morning and announcements are placed on hallway bulletin boards to alert students to upcoming programs. In addition, information regarding extra-curricular opportunities is a regular feature of our weekly e-mail “Upper School Happenings” newsletter.

Some of our programs require that students apply for or compete for a position on an athletic or academic team. The most qualified students are then selected to represent us in competition. However, most of the programs are open to all interested students in good academic standing
