The Nach (Neviim / Ketuvim) curriculum is constructed of two 2-year cycles, based on our grouping of 9-10th grades and 11-12 grades together.  All courses will focus on skills as well as the key concepts outlined below.
 
 Cycle One: (9-10 Grade)
The Glory of the First Beit Hamikdash
This course will focus on the heyday of the Kingdom of Israel during the reign of David and Solomon. It will review the history leading up to the need to establish a monarchy through the study of the books of Yehoshua and Shoftim. The course will spend much of the year looking at themes related to monarchy from the books of Shmuel II as they are presented in the book of Tehillim. The course will investigate several themes, including: How does prayer and praise reflect the issues and ideas that were particularly popular during the time leading up to the First Temple?

Melachim Bet and Churban Bayit Rishon

This course will focus on the First Temple period and the strengths and pitfalls that led up to the destruction of the First Temple. The class will focus mainly on the second half of the book of Melachim, drawing on relevant texts from Divrei Hayamim and Yirmiyahu

Cycle Two: (11-12 grade)
Nevuah
This course will focus on the concept of prophecy. We will study prophets, their religious and national functions, and some of the main themes and lessons that have been recorded for generations. The class will focus on a variety of different books including: Yirmiyahu, Yishayahu, Shmuel, Shmot, and Trei Asar.

Shivat Tzion
This course will focus on the beginning of the Second Temple period and the relationship between and Eretz Yisrael and Chutz La-aretz. We will study themes and ideas that are particularly relevant to our relationship to the modern State of Israel. The class will focus on a variety of different books including: Ezra/Nechemia, Chagai, Zechariya, Melachi, Megillat Esther, and Daniel
