Mishmar is an opportunity for students to spend extra time learning as well as an opportunity to strengthen their relationship with a member of the Judaic faculty. The middle school takes pride in sponsoring the program for Grades 6-8. Additionally, Mishmar satisfies the Melvin J. Berman Hebrew Academy extra learning obligation for students who wish to participate in any Hebrew Academy sponsored sports program must fulfill. Mishmar is scheduled on alternating Tuesdays during the school year. Sessions begin promptly at 4:30 p.m. and end at 5:25 p.m. The cost of $50.00 for the year includes pizza and juice which is served to all participating students in the cafeteria.

In addition, we also offer to Grades 6, 7, & 8, our Beit Midrash program. On Wednesdays, students have the opportunity to learn extra Talmud with a member of the Judaic faculty. This program begins at 4:35 p.m. and ends at 5:20 p.m. Please contact the Middle School office at 301-962-9400, ext. 5217, if you are interested.
